To arrange a cultural tour, or just to come see the baskets, call Ednah Goitsemodimo at (country code 267) 74178457. She will set it up for you! You can opt for including a traditional meal for an additional fee. Unfortunately, you will need to find your own transportation to Sexaxa.  You call also e-mail Ednah, at [email protected], though phoning is most effective!

Directions: From the Maun Old Mall, drive on the main road past the New Mall. Continue on that road until the circle about 15 minutes later. Take a left at the circle. Continue on that road about 10 minutes (passing Discovery B&B and the University of Botswana sign), and you will see the signs for the Cultural Village on either side of the road. It is on the left side of the road.

The Sexaxa Cultural Village was started in 2001, when tours used to be given in the home of a local resident.

There are about 500 people in Sexaxa.

Many people farm for subsistence or for selling locally. There are good fish in the Thamalakane River which runs alongside the village, which is another food source for villagers.

Prices: Cultural Tours are 100 pula per person.

Times: Times are very flexible!
